I want a job as an HVAC technician

I really want to become an HVAC technician.

I am trying to find a job as an HVAC technician, but one of the major problems with this is that I am not a certified HVAC technician.

I am willing to become a certified HVAC technician, but I am older than the average person learning how to become an HVAC technician, and I feel like I have wasted so much time that I could have used to learn HVAC work. I did not realize that I wanted to become an HVAC technician when I was in college. I actually went to college to be an educator. After a few years at college, I learned that education was actually not my forte. I eventually quit college, and I spent a few years working multiple jobs and trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Now, I realize that I need to become an HVAC technician, but I have no idea where to start. There is no way that I can become an HVAC technician by going to a local college. I have a house and a lot of bills, and I cannot afford to pay all of that, work all of my hours, and go to college. If I decided to go that route, I would probably never make it as an HVAC technician. However, if I found a job with a local HVAC company, they might be willing to train me as an HVAC technician. I know that there are a lot of HVAC companies that are hiring HVAC technicians to train them for free, but I am older than most of these kids. I wonder if the HVAC company would be willing to train me as an HVAC technician. Honestly, the only thing that I can do is ask.
