I don’t know if an air purifier makes my office safe again
Last week, both of us opted to go back to the office after finally working from our apartments for the past multiple months.
- I was absolutely hopeful that all of us would be able to continue working from home; however the boss enjoys keeping tabs on all of the employees.
It’s not like I can’t get my job done at my apartment on my own without supervision… The supplier keeps tabs on our computer logs and they know right away when any of us aren’t being productive. It entirely didn’t make sense to send us back to our office jobs earlier than necessary, but I didn’t have a choice when the boss made the demand. Thankfully, the boss gave us air purifiers for our cubicles, as well as a large commercial air purifier for the entire office… Everyone in the office is trying to stay healthy, and obviously that starts with indoor air cleaning; We can’t wear our masks at work, because we all spend most of the afternoon on these phone calls with our clients. It’s hard to understand anything when there is a mask in the way. I think the masks help keep us safe, however they make it severely hard to hear. The whole-building air purifier in the office runs continuously, even when no one is present in the building. It’s loud & noisy, however it works to remove all of the allergens, dust, debris, and viruses that might be in the indoor air! So far, no coworker in the office has been diagnosed with Covid-19, however as long as all of us continue following standard universal precautions, both of us should be safe. There are hand sanitizer stations all over the place and there are regular sanitizing wipe downs by the housekeeping staff. Then between the weekly vigorous cleanings and the whole-building air purifier, this place is virtually safer than my own apartment.
