Lucky to have such a nice job at the theater

I am not in show business, per se, however I am show business adjacent pretty much.

That’s pretty nice too! I sort of stumbled into it to be honest, because I was young and dumb and moved with my lady to the big city so she could chase her dreams of fame and fortune.

It turns out that moving to the big city without any skills, experience, or money was not a smart plan for her. At least I had a way to make money, she thought her looks and charm would be enough. They were not, and both of us went to tryouts for a stage play. I learned my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C skills were much more valuable to the theater than her singing and dancing. By the end of the day I was hired as the on-call Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device tech for the theater, and she did not even get a call-back. After that our relationship changed, mainly because the upper class girl was resentful that her blue collar Heating, Ventilation, and A/C bestie was now making the money and kicking off a new work position. I thought being an on-call Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device tech would be a part time thing, however I never hurt for work I can tell you for certain! Whenever they have a show for the public they have the desire to have me on hand, even if the air conditioning device is working just fine, just in case of an emergency. This works for me, because it means I get paid to rest and watch plays and hope the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C device keeps working. And it always works beautifully, because I totally know how to operate Heating, Ventilation, and A/C devices with the best of them.
